Last came here for the VE Day airshow in 1945. Great day out: demonstrations of parachute drops. I was allowed to sit in the cockpit of a bomber ~ too bad we weren't allowed to take off: should have come a few days earlier!
The Area 51 of the uk. Secret and reversed craft from other worlds are tested and flown here. Highly recommended.

Lived in the early 70s in married quarters ,a time when we had sheet change and any crockery replaced at stores if broken item taken ,it was a community not just an RAF camp .very many happy memories of social occasions and friends made
